vegan gluten-free breading
You can make a very simple and easy vegan, gluten-free breading reminiscient of a panko breading:
ingredients
- arrowroot "egg"
- 2 tbsp arrowroot powder : 3 tbsp water
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- seasoning to taste
procedure
Just dip the food in the arrowroot egg until its coated, and then dip in the shredded coconut, and fry it up! Adding seasoning to the arrowroot egg as well as the coconut imparts great flavor to the food as you cook it. The texture gets nice and crispy (you may want to sprinkle coconut flakes onto the side before you flip, in case what is already stuck there is soggy).
