ryudov2
ryudov2 is a desktop environment based on my experiments with ryudo. It is composed of:
- an openbox fork
- a tint2 fork
- either st or urxvt as a terminal
- the steppenwolf theme and associated configurations
- the plan9port userspace
- other opinionated userspace applications (pcmanfm-qt, vivaldi, taro, micro, acme9k, eventually kuro)
- dmenu, dunst, nitrogen, udiskie, and some shell scripts to bind everything together
This setup is the culmination of years of research and refinement in the Linux desktop UI space. It is a hybrid of ideas from Openstep and plan9 to create a very simple but versatile environment that feels timeless, stays out of the way, and is easy to use with both the mouse and the keyboard.
Currently I am working on standardizing and modularizing the configurations and creating a meta-repo capable of building and installing the entire environment on top of an existing Linux system.
